Margins that actually work

Most interfaces fail not because of missing features, but because every region fights for attention. A working margin is a commitment: it tells the eye where to rest and what can wait.

In practice that means fewer boxed modules, stronger typographic hierarchy, and lists that read as lists—not cards dressed as content. If removing a border does not hurt understanding, the border was decoration.

Start with the page’s reading order. Place one idea per band. Let the gutter breathe. Then add motion only where it clarifies sequence.
